This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
It’s happening again. Honestly, it’s enough to make even the most sane just scream. Express Scripts, a mere middleman between pharmaceutical companies and pharmacies, has chosen to remove Walgreens from its network. This is impacting, and upsetting, thousands of customers. In fact, our own U.S. military service men and women are a large group who are affected. Tricare, coverage for our military, is a “client” of Express Scripts.
Isn’t it bad enough for our military? What are they thinking? What is this world coming to?
The sad part is, whenever you have a middleman, you know you’re getting the short end of the stick. They determine who or what is “in network,” and who or what is not. And, don’t for a moment think they pick the best from your point of view. We’re talking big money. Big money that does not have your best interests at heart. It’s the almighty dollar pure and simple.
So here’s a case where it is happening again, only this time Walgreens isn’t just taking it on the chin. Instead, they want you to know what’s happening – read Walgreens and Express Scripts
Then, be sure to make your voice heard. You can contact your local media, follow what’s happening on Walgreens on Facebook and add them via Walgreens on Twitter
Keep in mind, Walgreens is not taking this lightly, far from it. In the meantime, remember they have had (and continue to have) a great Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens that is definitely worth investigating, and even has a money back guarantee (because who knows, YOUR coverage may go up in smoke, too, of not now, someday).
It’s bad enough it’s also another election year, but when they start playing games with prescription drugs, and we add in a poor economy, scarce jobs, high unemployment, and an ever increasing baby boomer generation… who’s going to take what away from us next? Apathy is definitely not an option!

I have taken note that of all types of insurance, health insurance is the most debatable because of the conflict between the insurance cover company’s duty to remain profitable and the customer’s need to have insurance cover. Insurance companies’ revenue on wellbeing plans are incredibly low, so some corporations struggle to make a profit. Thanks for the strategies you share through this blog.
