Sirens are placed in strategic locations to announce a major evacuation; the emergency broadcast system is in place in the event that power and electricity is cut off. Many cities and town stockpile food, water and medicine. As a citizen, it is also your job to be prepared in the event of an emergency.
Our house is our sanctuary during storms; thus, we need to regularly check the integrity of our roofs, walls, etc. Since our house is our only defense against heavy rains and strong winds, make sure it can withstand severe weather conditions.
